Phase 3: The unexpected Phase

Ooops.

I found out last week that I am lesion free at this time. Yay for that (boo for it still being undefined), then my body countered with "hold my slush and watch this" and this week on Monday as I tried to get from an appointment to a kid activity, my brain and my foot were using different
wave lengths as they often do, but this time there was not the progression of trip, stumble, recover, but rather trip, twist, fall, mangle. See, I swear I lifted my leg high enough to step over the shovel handle, but somewhere between brain and foot and over, something went wrong.

I remember twisting, lots of crashing, some pretty words & Luke rushing out the door to see if I was alive. I was tangled in a bike, boxes & whatever else was on the deck, the whole deck, even the neighbor's deck, I swear, landed on me.

My left knee (strong side) got the brunt of it. It has abrasions, bruising & swelling & if something touches it, I go through the roof. If nothing touches it, I can do okay, but trying to walk on it, it frequently seems to dip out from under me.

Upon first examination, there was a wicked loud POP! The next examination, smaller pops & the feeling of a wedge under lower right side of patella. We did an X-ray, the patella wasn't broken, just banged good. Next step, MRI #4 for the month of my knee next week. Thought: the meniscus??

I'm trying my first go at crutches. I kind of feel ridiculous, but when I try to go without them, I gimp ridiculous & by night am in pain.

The kids really love them & have pole vaulted, pogo sticked, stilted & sword fought. Lizzy thinks they are called "Tweezers". If I set them down for a second, they are commondeared. At least they are getting a kick out of them I guess. I sure hate them.

On the good news side of things, I had my final check up from my H&P surgery today & got the last of the stitches removed. I am now cleared to lift more than 20lbs again as of today. Helpful. If only I had that AND full mobility at the same time.

Kiss my ass 2019.
