April 7th-10th we got a great spring
blizzard....
It started with a forecast that everyone was skeptical about as the past half dozen never amounted
or missed us by a ways.....
Then there was the
calm before the storm in which we took our first family bike ride and enjoyed
the warmth on the deck until the air began to feel thick and heavy and the sky
became gloomy....
Putting the bikes back up until "Real Spring" |
Here it comes.....
In the morning of
April 7th, it started with freezing rain.....

We made chex mix and
soup and watched out the window......
The forecast was
unaltering......
The snow kept
coming.....
We awoke at 6am on
April 8th to find it White Out.....
By 10 am we all put on snow
gear and went out to scoop and depth check....
ICICLES!!!
It took us hours to
make a dent and the snow kept coming.
I finally went in
and took a shower. Then I went out in my warm, dry clothes to check on Wayne.
Andy had asked to take some pictures with my camera and next thing I know, I
was snow bombed!!!!!!!
How RUDE!
Personally, I think I was set up!
This is a double exposure taken of Zach looking out the window at me. He only shows up in my reflection. Pretty neat. |
The next day it was
sunny and of course school was cancelled, so it was time to play.....
We made a snow fort....
A snowman.....
Homemade Hot Chocolate......
The Boys went sledding down the hill out back......
We made Snow Ice Cream (see the recipe here)....
